Let’s Talk About Brand Merch

Let's talk about MERCH.

I'd bet that the good majority of us have purchased a piece of merch.

Think you haven't? I bet you have.

That t-shirt you bought at your favorite band's concert? Merch.

The coffee mug you grabbed from that cute indie coffee shop last time you were on vacation? Merch.

Your go-to baseball cap branded with your favorite sports team? Merch.

Heck, some brands even give us FREE merch.

The tacky restaurant to-go cups that junk up your kitchen cabinet? Merch.

The branded koozie that came with your 12-pack of craft beer? Merch.

And what happens every time you slip on that t-shirt, drink from that coffee mug, or reach for that plastic cup?

YOU THINK ABOUT THE BRAND.

Even if it's a fleeting, subconscious thought, it's almost impossible to consciously look at the item without thinking about the brand.

That's the power of merch.

Merch extends the brand experience.

When it comes to deciding on merch for your brand, you have options — and LOTS of ‘em.

Here are some ideas:

  • Tees

  • Hoodies

  • Sweatpants

  • Crewnecks

  • Beanies

  • Baseball hats

  • Trucker hats

  • Tote bags

  • Coffee mugs

  • Tumblers/cups

  • Water bottles

  • Koozies

  • Notepads

  • Pens

  • Laptop case

  • Mousepad

There are ENDLESS possibilities. I even designed a branded skateboard the other day!

No matter what you choose, you’re giving your audience a treat while also extending the brand experience.

And if you offer merch for sale through your site, take the experience even further by packaging it all up in branded packaging! This means tissue paper, boxes, stickers, note cards, inserts, etc. If it’s a point of touch for the customer or client, consider how you can add your brand.
